How to make chicken feet with black bean sauce

Here is an easy recipe how to make chicken feet with black bean sauce.  This is so delicious and yummy.  Ohhh and it is so addicting too! I can't put the food down! OMGAH! I hope you enjoy this recipe.

Get your ingredients ready!

  • 2 - 3 pounds chicken feet
  • 2 tbsp chinese black bean
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 thumb ginger sliced into small strips
  • 3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup green onion sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp corn starch mixed with 1/2 cup water

1.

Get all your ingredients ready.  (click on the picture on the right to view larger image).

2.

Cut off the nails with scissors or a knife. Wash and drain the chicken feet. Squeeze out all the water.  You can also use a paper towel to dry them.

3.

In a hot pan, add 1-2 cup oil.

BE CAREFUL WHEN ADDING THE CHICKEN FEET TO THE OIL. IT IS HOT AND THINGS WILL POP!

Deep fry the chicken until golden brown.

4.

Add the garlic and ginger to a new pan with some oil. Stir until brown.

5.

Now add the chicken feet, oyster sauce, chinese black beans, and water.

Once mixed, remove and place into a pressure cooker.

Cook for 20 minutes.  Be careful when using a pressure cooker.

When done, put the pressure cooker under hot water, when the steam button is released, you may open the pressure cooker.

(If you don't have a pressure cooker, just cover and let it cook until the chicken feet is tender.  This could take a long time and if the water dries out, you may need to add more water.)

6.

Add the brown sugar, corn starch + water mixture, and the green onions.  Stir for about 5 minutes until the sauce gets thicken.

7.

Ready to eat!

Omg Annie! Looks finger licking good!! I've never tried frying the chicken feet first so I'm going to try this recipe out soon. Btw, what if I don't have a pressure cooker??

To get it moist and soft, you'll need a pressure cooker.  I've tried it before without the pressure cooker and the chicken feet was not as soft.  Good luck.

hey annie,

can the chicken feet be cooked in a slow cooker over night, instead of the pressure cooker?

Thanks,

Va

Yes, it can be cooked in a slow cooker too.  You may need to adjust your water for the slow cooker method.

I can't wait to try out this recipe. I'd always wait for the hmong store to make them and go buy it but they don't make alot and they always run out by the time I get there so this is awesome that I can finally find a recipe to try out. Now I've heard that I can use a steamer or those 2 pots that makes rice to steam them until they are soft, would that be ok?I also got your blue crab recipe too and I can't wait to try them both out. I'm drooling right now haha.

Hi Sheena, I think a steamer would be good too. You might have to steam it for a long time to get it soft.  Give it a try and let me know how it turns out!

You don't need a pressure cooker to make those chicken feet soft.  I learned a trick that doesn't required it but only everything you already have in your kitchen!  All you need is deep fried it first then boil the chicken feets 2nd to get it super soft like at any restaurants you go to.  Hope this helps for people with no pressure cooker.

This recipe does call for it to be deep fried and it will be HOT and POPPY. Boiling the chicken does help but it's probably much faster in a slow cooker.
